Education

Labour Action China aims to improve the awareness and the organizing capacity of Chinese migrant labourers in defending their rights through education and building a network for exchange and learning among them. Participatory workshops, internship programs and factory trainings were conducted to provide knowledge on issues of particular concern for migrant workers, including:

  • the rights enshrined in the labour laws
  • workplace organizing strategies
  • paralegal skills in claiming rights through litigation
  • pre-migration labour rights training of young workers on the key issues such as collective wage negotiation, trade union participation, occupational safety and health protection, social insurance benefits etc.
  • practical skills and specific knowledge addressing women workers’ concerns
