Founded in 1994 in Hong Kong by independent trade unionist Han Dongfang, China Labour Bulletin (CLB) has been actively promoting independent, democratic union organizing, and the protection of labour rights and standards in mainland China.
All of CLB's activities are based on the principle of furthering and supporting Chinese workers to claim their labour rights and secure their livelihood. The underlying foundation of our work is contained in ILO Conventions No.87 and 98, namely the right to freedom of association and the right to free collective bargaining. |

In 1977, the Justice and Peace Commission of Hong Kong Catholic Diocese was officially established.
